BLOOMINGTON, ILL. -- 1st Farm Credit Services and Farm
Credit Services of Illinois presented contributions totaling
$4,000 to the major commodity groups during meetings held
this week at the Illinois Commodity Conference, Bloomington.
Checks of $1,000.00 each were presented to the Illinois Beef
Association, Illinois Corn Growers Association, Illinois
Pork Producers Association and the Illinois Soybean
Association. The contributions will benefit the
associations’ legislative activities, marketing programs,
and training and education events.
“We believe in supporting our state commodity organizations
as they do work to benefit Illinois farmers ,” said Wayne
Gustafson, 1st FCS President and CEO. “Their efforts to
represent our state’s agriculture profile in Springfield and
Washington is vital to the industry’s well-being.”
Ron Frenn, President/CEO, Farm Credit Services of Illinois,
agreed the associations play a critical role in representing
Illinois farmers. “The commodity associations’ activities
bring significant value to their members and the agriculture
industry. We are proud to support their efforts.”
The checks were presented during each association’s
individual annual meeting, held in conjunction with the
Illinois Commodity Conference, November 22, 2005 at the
Radisson Hotel in Bloomington. Terry Hinds, Vice President
of Client Value for 1st Farm Credit Services and Peggy Kaye,
Vice President, Public Relations for Farm Credit Services of
Illinois, presented the checks to each association’s
president.
