NORMAL – 1st Farm Credit Services is
working with farmers to help with disaster relief in many of
the flood ravaged areas of Illinois.
Many farmers have lost complete crops and homes in the
recent flooding in portions of Illinois. 1st Farm
Credit Services is utilizing a number of financial remedies
to meet the needs of farmers affected by the excessive
moisture and flooding conditions.
“We are working hard to help our clients and our communities
through these tough times,” said Gary J. Ash, President/CEO
of 1st Farm Credit Services. “We are doing
everything possible to aid in relief efforts. Our No. 1
concern is their safety and health.”
The Farm Credit Administration, which regulates and
supervises the Farm Credit System, is allowing associations
like 1st Farm Credit Services to work with
clients to establish plans to assist clients and their
families through potential financial hardship caused by the
natural disaster.
The flooding and excessive moisture has created many unique
needs of farmers and their families.
“We will work with each of our effected clients to find
financial and crop insurance solutions that fits their needs
and situation,” Ash said. “We are positioned to help our
farmers and others get back on their feet.”
Along with creating financial packages to help with
repayment and other needs, 1st Farm Credit
Services team members are helping with flooding relief
efforts, including sandbagging and collecting goods and
money.

Farm Credit Services leads the industry in agriculture
loans, risk management products and various services such as
crop insurance, loan and lease options, as well as
agricultural real estate appraisals. The cooperative serves
42 counties in the northern half of Illinois through its 18
local offices.
