POSITION:   Vice President Commercial Lending

GRADE:   Dependent upon experience and qualifications

LOCATION:   Mahomet, Illinois

REPORTS TO:   Steve Carson, Regional Vice President Commercial Lending

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
The Vice President Commercial Lending will market to, develop and maintain relationships with eligible businesses, lending partners and trade groups. The incumbent will focus on developing expertise to understand the complex needs of large businesses. The incumbent develops and services a loan portfolio of large commercial loans, including but not limited to large specialized livestock or grain farm loans, eligible marketing and processing entities such as grain elevators, farm implement dealerships, and farm supply firms. Duties also include establishing and maintaining relationships with qualified lead lenders to facilitate the purchase or sale of loan participations. Duties may include establishing and maintaining relationships to support point of sale programs at dealerships.

QUALIFICATIONS:
This position requires a bachelor’s degree in agriculture, economics, business, or related field, and seven to nine years experience in marketing, credit or commercial lending; or equivalent combination. The incumbent must possess the ability to communicate and understand a broad range of businesses, maintain a positive customer base, and possess a comprehensive knowledge of FCS loan products and services and credit operations. The incumbent must also possess excellent interpersonal, communication, problem solving, analytical, negotiating, influencing, and strategic selling skills. This position will be working in a team environment. As a result, the incumbent must demonstrate effective team building and team interaction skills. The ability to use financial software and other applications is required.

JOB TITLE:  Commercial Credit Officer
LOCATION:  Sycamore or Ottawa,  Illinois

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Position may be located in either Sycamore or Ottawa, Illinois, office.  1st Farm Credit Services is seeking a Commercial Lending Officer professional for our centralized underwriting department.  Responsibilities of this position include servicing internal and external clients by providing analysis, support and decision making in processing credit underwriting and servicing actions originated in the assigned territory.  This position participates in the ongoing design of processes to provide exceptional service, achieve satisfactory credit administration goals and achieve targeted credit quality. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

The ideal candidate for this position will possess: a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in business, agriculture or related field, with a minimum of 7 years experience in agricultural and commercial lending.  Strong ability to make sound judgments and an understanding of credit extension, credit administration, and business development procedures are desired qualities. Candidates must possess strong communication and organizational skills.  The understanding of and ability to use various computer based business and financial applications is required.

JOB TITLE:  Lending Services Officer
LOCATION:  Normal,  Illinois

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Commercial Lending Services Officer for Business Lending serves as a resource to capital markets, rural investment, and agri-business segments to provide sound and appropriate credit guidance and underwriting. Applies knowledge of business development, credit skills and association policy to provide credit underwriting originated by Vice Presidents. Provides credit expertise, analysis and support on complex actions for large agribusiness/cap mkts and agricultural rural developments loans and investments. Provides analysis and support in servicing requests and other credit services. Coordinates with the agribusiness/cap mkts and ARC VP, and credit assistant to provide exceptional service, achieve credit administration goals and meet client needs. Achieves targeted credit quality with adequate compensation for risk. Maintains an understanding of federal and state guarantee programs and utilizes the programs as necessary in the administration of credit. This position is delegated credit authority level and is a member of the Association Loan Committee. Using the assigned authorities the officer will manage the risk within the assigned portfolio balancing the need for sound credit decisions and administration with portfolio growth

QUALIFICATIONS:

This position requires a Bachelors degree in business, accounting, finance, or economics and five to ten years experience in credit and operations, or equivalent, post graduate degree, or MBA is desirable Ability to make sound judgments is required. Knowledge of capital market activities including national and multination food and agricultural related companies, agribusiness industry, rural community and business lending and agribusiness lending is required.

The position requires an understanding of credit administration, and portfolio management. Solid organizational, interpersonal, communication, problem solving, analytical, negotiating, and influencing skills are required. The incumbent must demonstrate effective team building and team process skills. Experience on the job in the use of various business/financial computer applications is required.
