MALTA – If the dairymen in the Buchholz family are up at 3 a.m., it’s by choice, not because their cows need to be milked.

Their entire 130-head herd is milked 24 hours a day, seven days a week by two robots. The robots eliminate the need for workers to milk the cows at set times throughout the day.
