Since 1972, Farm Credit Administration ("FCA") regulations have restricted the disclosure of Personal Information provided to us while applying for or obtaining a loan ("Personal Borrower Information"). Specifically, employees and directors of a Farm Credit institution may not disclose the Personal Borrower Information to others without your consent except in certain circumstances. We do not sell or trade Personal Information to marketing companies or information brokers. We will only disclose your Personal Borrower Information and other Personal Information in the following circumstances without first obtaining your consent:
- We may give Personal Borrower Information and other Personal Information to another Farm Credit institution that you do business with.
- We can be a credit reference for you with other lenders and provide Personal Borrower Information and other Personal Information to a credit bureau or other consumer reporting agency.
- We can provide Personal Borrower Information and other Personal Information in certain types of legal or law enforcement proceedings.
- FCA examiners may review loan files containing Personal Borrower Information and other Personal Information during examinations of our associations.
- If one of our employees applies to become a licensed real estate appraiser, we may give copies of real estate appraisal reports containing Personal Borrower Information and other Personal Information to the State agency that licenses appraisers when required. We will first remove as much Personal Information from the appraisal report as possible.
In addition to the above disclosures, we may disclose Personal Information in the following situations:
- We may buy or sell business assets or be acquired by or acquire other companies or Farm Credit institutions. In such transactions, Personal Information (including Personal Borrower Information) generally is one of the transferred business assets.
